Tarnagulla Victoria

Post by whipmassa on Wed 20 Apr 2016, 11:12 am

Greetings Guys. 30 years ago I used to detect at Tarnagulla in Victoria. Found some nice gold down there and had a great time at the Tarna Pub when John had it. Retired now and have a new Hi-Lux and pick up an Ecotourer Offroader next week. Im heading down to Tarna - Dunolly in the next few weeks. Can anybody give me an update on the area. Are they still finding gold? I notice that the Tarnagulla Caravan Park is now closed but that doesnt matter as i am self sufficient to stay out in the bush. Remember Hec . He was always in the Tarnagulla pub and always said that a nugget with his name on it was lying somewhere around Kingower. Any info would be appreciated.

Phil.

Laaecoorie caravan park is still open
I don't know if the showers are still operating in the Turnagulla oval
John still runs the pub as I asked a local last week
and there still is gold being found there last I heard
regards Harry
P.S. Phil may run into you there or around the traps
take care

Tarnagulla Caravan Park is "For Sale" but camping is available at the Historic Reserve for $5 per night, I think the sign said the showers are coin operated.  Drove through there yesterday, detecting wise, only found lead pellets.
