anyone using a small dry blower

Post by Selfy on Wed 20 Apr 2016, 9:06 am

I was thinking about getting a small dry blower, maybe like this one https://www.facebook.com/Sluicy-gold-equipment-Australia-719031588170817/
anyone used one,
i have seen a real big dry blower working (30t/hr) and that one did catch a lot of small gold

Hey mate I use a Keene "mighty midget" to clean up the cons from my big Dryblower and for Loam sampling recovery is very good
Would not like to use for production unless on very rich ground or you like shovelling.
Personally I like the puffer Dryblowers as you don't have to listen to a 2 stroke engine all day

Jeez mate, dunno about the shovel on a hot day, beep beep , dig dig, just go detecting . Once i did that & only once , hard work & thankless , good dirt fair enough & you need half gramm an hour minimum , unless your a 120kg fit brickie off sider & love punishment. Good luck matey

Just a memory now, but back a year or 30, used to like shovelling into the dryblower. At the end of every day you could guarantee there was gold in the jar. Quite often a few clunkers in the top screen.
Even today you can still be sure of get a glint of gold, nothing to write home about though.
In 2015 after doing some mods to a small 12V dryblower, we took it away and I shovelled for an hour along an old scrape windrow.
Bagged the fines from the riffle box (approx. 5kg) and brought it home and put it through the "red bowl"
2.8g fine gold. :-)

I reckon that would be a good reason to give it a go.
