Prospecting in forrest land?

Post by danowner on Sat 20 Feb - 12:37

Just wanted to ask if prospecting in a forrest is allowed? Doesn't mention that it's not allowed in the prospectors book, wanted to see. Cheers

it all goes back to whether its tenement land or VCL, vacant crown land. you are fine on VCL and as you know now need permission on granted tenements. anything pending is fine. getting permission is a courtesy with pastoral lease holders but not actually necessary but any private land you need owners permission.
not a lot close to perth although nothing ventured nothing gained. you will be better putting in a weekend heading off early sat morning or late friday night and gong to places like marvel loch, bulfinch or paynes find. you can achieve a lot over a weekend.
good luck

As Martin says, it depends on what the area is. If it is a reserve or a lease for timber purposes, you can't prospect on it as far as I'm aware.
