BB, The Garrett Deepseeker was the machine that started the new gold rush around the world. Found my first gold with one way back in the very early 80's.
Don't know where you plan to search but most of the easy gold is gone in the well known locations in Oz.
Having said that, there is still new finds out there waiting for someone to walk over the remote ground.
Being located in the UK it would be an ideal relic machine.
Good luck

i have taken my garret deepseeker out a few times and you can get them to work in our goldfields, i found i had to keep twitching the GB to keep her quiet and if you hit a target it takes a bit of adjusting to ensure its not the ground. so yes it will find gold but it takes a lot of work and soon you get frustrated with the noise. good luck

Slight update it is in fact a GOLD hunter, not that that will make much difference...
Its at my wife's late fathers machine, at the moment at my sister in laws in Perth. Will get my hands on it in january when i visit for 3 weeks from the uk....Probably need to open it up and get a little contact cleaner in the knobs.....If anyone wants to come out and play with machines in january (I will probably bring my XP Deus with me) Let me know... Very Happy

You may find conditions a little warm if you are planning to visit the goldfields in January?
