7000 - dodgy Battery

Post by Ttrash on Mon 23 Feb 2015, 9:33 am

G'day all ,
Just letting you know a good mate over east
Went to charge his battery , for the first time on his 7
Would not charge .

He met up with another friend who had his 7
Borrowed his charger - no charge

He grabbed his battery out of his CTX3030
Put it on the new 7000 charger
& it worked fine

Problem was the 7000 battery
Was Dodgy ....!

Spare 7000 battery is $220
CTX spare is $180

Hopefully there isn't many others

Anthony

Bloody hell Anthony,

One would hope that there would be quality controls ( ie a basic charge at the factory to make sure ) in place to stop this happening on a piece of equipment priced at $10700 ! Shocked

Not a good start Minelab. Lets hope this was just a one off !

Cheers,
Rick

Ray , Banjo
I agree with you & you would highly think that
The batteries would be different in something , to a degree .

Now the guy who had the issue was told by
Minelab , supposedly , that you can use a CTX battery
In a 7000 BUT not the CTX alkaline pack ...??

AraratGold

Indeed ,
It's like buying a new car that wouldn't start .....

These things happen
