Post by CrazyPete on Mon 23 Feb 2015, 8:03 am

First topic message reminder :

Has anybody had a really bad allergic reaction to DEET based repellent, last 2 days have been shear hell, massive reaction, inc nearly closed eyes from swelling and burning itching all over sprayed areas only. Been to same patch heaps without trubs using horse bum cream with no probs. 1st time I've used DEET and Bam! I'm a mess

G'day Pete
Not a good look! This is a post I submitted on the 4th May, 2013 but I have not been able to copy the pics

Re: HORSE BUM FLY CREAM

Post by linlara on Mon 04 Mar 2013, 2:46 am
Hi albo,
We have been using horse cream from Desert Dwellers in the Alice for about 4 years, great stuff but I was told it was eye cream, maybe just a bum steer. Rolling Eyes
Anyway I ran out of it and used a well known roll on fly repellent. I left it on the fold out table of the van while I was out and didn't notice it had blown over until the following day. The pic shows the results.
The shite had stripped the friggin paint off the table. After emailing the company they got back to me saying their product is manufactured and covered by all standards and it was just an unfortunate gust of wind that caused the problem. I think they were telling me to stand in the far queue.
I haven't named the brand on purpose cause I don't want the rectum sued out of me.
So beware of the paint stripping fly repellent. jhgigfif

Best of luck Lindsay

Cheers Linlara Very Happy

Yeah the top main three that have DEET in em are RID, Bushman's, and Aeroguard
Tropical strength, the Aeroguard low irritant has "Picardin" not Deet.
