well all has been sorted--we will move on--

went to the 50k gold fields with the 7k and got there about 5.30am
early start to beat the heat  well it was 35*c when we left Ktown.

showed the 7k some new ground and away we went..detecting detecting--swinging--nothing..
the machine ran quiet and ran it in a couple of settling but mainly deep gold coz I'm not after the tiddlers that the 2300 will ping with ease...

met a couple of local bomb chuckers namely cotty and kev and these 2 had already pinged half a dozen smoall pieces that the 2300 would have screamed at..

so after ginning around walking walking detecting and finding nothing thought we would chuck everything in the back of the troopy and head into hidden vally some 25ks away

check out 3 areas that shed a fair amount of gold and still bugger all by the 7k--don't forget I'm running in mainly deep gold..brian and his mrs nailed 3 pieces but once again the 2300 or in this instance 5k with a 11" coil pinged them--was called over to see if I could pick the signal up and after rearranging the settings did manage to find it--This is a well hammered area which we have camped on and bashed the living life out of most of the nuggets however there is some deep ground there so was worth a look.

I did manage to find a target but the ground was that bloody hot I called over the others and left them with it-I got me old mate Gazza to try to find the target--his hands r like old diggers boots --. with the ground being very hot--temp wise--.and he'd already had 4 cans of 4xxxx gold, so he was up to it..-it turned out to be a very small piece of rolled alfoil. 4500 with a 18x12 coil.

u could have cooked an egg in a frying pan just sitting on the ground without too much trouble..it was bloody hot..the temp was edging 48*c.

the major problem I am finding is that it is an absolute art in trying to pin point with this machine and it will make the PRO POINTER an absolute necessity to carry with u.

The other problem I was having was everytime I picked up a hand full of dirt to wave over the coil the WM12 was also setting the coil of and interfering- so I pulled that of my collar near my neck and left it on some spinny 3' away so I could still hear the signal..

it was about 11.30 and we were starting to disintergrate and Brians mrs needed a bath so once again folks I left empty handed. 37 ks back home..

I now don't have to go to the gym coz my arm has grown by 20cm --shite this thing is heavy without a harness and some blokes are hanging out for a 20" coil--OMG--

This machine works well in the hardest country in Australia and if ever a piece of gold is still hiding down deep then we will nail it.

The machine ran quiet in Deep only (+44*C) and I did hear a few lightning spikes --they always keep u on yah toes and keeps the blood flowing.

Did I say--"don't forget yah bloody harness) flaming slow learner this mob.. lol!

Just spoke to a friend in ktown and all is well. There's been dry lightening storms all week creating fires to expose more gold. Perhaps a few good downpours on the freshly burned ground will create fresh ground for detecting. Pity we're heading the other direction in a week or so.

Glad to hear that, maybe the lightning strikes were helped along by some unscrupulous wanna be prospectors Twisted Evil Twisted Evil getting rid of the spinifex....

Everyone keep safe...

Nice work Ray great report!

I have made a mark2 version of the speaker bracket which I will put on a new post shortly with details and maybe a template for others to follow. Not my idea I copied Redfin from another forum.

Rough looking company you keep too mate!

Cheers

Very impressed with the mod bracket you fitted to mine Browny,ya might have to start selling them. With the speaker coupled up to JP's booster the 2300 is a deadly little gold sniffer.
